The Canadian advantage worth knowing

Exporting a pet from Canada is far cheaper on the government side than exporting from the United States. Two pets on one certificate cost the same as one.

The American equivalent runs from USD $101 to $275, depending on how many laboratory tests the destination requires. For a family moving two pets to a country that needs a titre test, the gap is meaningful.

Where Canada is at a disadvantage is the titre test itself. There is no Canadian rabies titre laboratory. CFIA states plainly that Canadian exporters send samples to the United States, usually Kansas State, so that fee is in US dollars and courier time has to be built into the schedule.

Two of these lines come from your own clinic. Your vet prices the exam, the certificate paperwork and the blood draw, and every practice sets its own rates, so ask for a quote when you book the visit. We handle the timing so each piece lands inside its validity window.
